I wanted to start the high poly modelling with the head, as I enjoyed this the most in the previous year of working on ZBrush. I first began by subdividing him a number of times to increase the poly count so I could add in the small details when I was at the right stage.
During the process of this I went between high subdivision levels and low ones when needing to do large adjustments to the face. While sculpting this I mainly used the move brush as well as the claybuild up brush and the standard brush. I wanted to try and get in the wrinkles on his face as well as the quite angry expression. I feel I achieved this very well and he is already beginning to resemble Uncle Sam.
Once I was happy with the head I looked at modelling the ear, I looked at a number of different images on the internet which helped me get to this final result, which I am quite happy with.
I wanted to add in some bumps around the chin to create the idea of stubble, I feel this worked well and will help push the idea of hair when creating the texture. I did this as I didnt want to rely just on the texture when doing the beard and I thought this would add more depth to it.
I did the same process with the eye brows, I feel this has given it the extra detail it needed which you wouldnt be able to completely get just by texturing.
Once I was happy with the overall result I wanted to add in the finer details that can easily be forgotten about, this included some extra some wrinkles/veins as well as skin pores. I was looking through the alphas and came across one that did small dots. whether or not this alphas purpose was to create skin pores I am not sure, but I was able to use it to suit my own needs and I feel it worked very well and made him look really good.
