week 6 - Medic truck

During week 5 I was talking to my lecturer trying to think of ways to fill my scene, to try and tell more of a story. We came up with the idea of having a medic van that has crashed into the scene and has launched debris around the scene which could include medical supplies as well as stretchers and other possible items found in a medic truck. So During reading week I wanted to start to model a ww1 van to place in my scene.

I found this image of one as well as others that looked similar to this, and thought it would be good reference when working. I also found another image of it below which I thought would be best to have in my maya file to look at while working.
I wanted to keep it quite simple but still have all the major detail in where needed as I did not want this to become too much of a focal point and become too distracting in the scene.
This is what I ended up with, I feel this is quite a good first blockout for the van which I will be able to build up on when I have found a suitable place in my scene.

Quick note: since writing this blog I have decided to scrap this as it became too large a part of my scene. I tried to change it around my scene, and although it did look quite good placed in the diorama, the size of it was too large for my circular diorama and became more of a focal point than the actual character. So for now I have had to scrap this, but I may come back to it at some point after the module as it would look quite good when it is finished.
